This homestead was renovated in 2010 from the ground up, with only the hand-chiseled block left in place. The meticulous refinishing maintained the home’s historic character, with original exposed rock walls, reclaimed long-leaf pine floors/doors and wood beams. At the same time, the restoration added all new electrical and plumbing systems, icynene insulation, and 17 foundation piers to ensure stability for generations to come.
