Peach Season Recipes

Peach Season Recipes

Oh happy day, it’s peach season here in Fredericksburg!

When summertime comes and school lets out (hugs to all my moms out there !), one of my family’s favorite things to do is to go to one of the many orchards in our area and pick some peaches!

One of our favorites is Jenschke Orchards. We go by there at all times of the year to get everything from pumpkins to blackberries and everything in between. Jenschke Orchard is a staple in the Hill Country, located on Wine Road 290 between Fredericksburg and Stonewall. And, as a family is so important to my life, I love knowing that the Orchard has had seven Jenschke generations growing up on the farm.

Now, I know what you will say, oh please, not another peach cobbler recipe! Not today!  Today, we are going to stretch our imaginations to find something new to do with all these peaches. Or maybe search the internet, since I’m not good at coming up with new recipes. Here are some that are sure to be a hit this summer.

PEACH MOSCOW MULES

Let's start with a cocktail for all of your summer BBQs, a peach Moscow mule! This one is a little bit sweet, slightly tart and a whole lot of yummy with a dash of cinnamon (very cute, I love this!) Try looking at this picture and not wanting to make one right now! Link to the recipe.

PEACH SALSA

How about a delicious peach salsa to snack on by the pool? This is an easy one with only a few ingredients. Healthy and delicious! This is great as a dip or served over chicken or fish. Link to the recipe.

PEACH FRITTERS

Now, you know we need a little something sweet. You can enjoy these peach fritters in the morning, noon or night! Let me just tell you these are amazing. I dare you to try not to eat one while it's still warm. Top it off with some ice cream too! Link to the recipe.

So, as I sit here enjoying my last 35 minutes until I go pick up my youngest for the official start of summer, I remind myself that each and every day of the season is just peachy!
